Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Collaboration

  • Collaboration with Germany

1. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences

Year of establishment: 2002

Scope: This is a teacher student exchange program exists between Anhalt University, Germany and MPBME department since March, 2002. Main goal of this collaboration is to develop medical physics education and research in Bangladesh

  1. University Medical Center, Mannheim (UMM)

Year of establishment: 2012

Scope: Every year many workshops, seminars and training program are being arranged under this collaboration. Hospital physicists, students and respective employees from various institutes get chance for Ph.D work and training in this hospital.

3. Heidelberg University

Year of establishment: 2012

Scope: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MPBME department, Gono University and Heidelberg University.  Students, who have outstanding result, get opportunity to do M.Sc in this university every year. Also, Ph.D students get opportunity to perform their practical work in this university.

  •  Collaboration with China

1. Jiliang University

Year of establishment: 2016

Scope: Top ranked graduate students get chance to participate in this medical physics co-operative research program. They get advanced training in medical physics, biomedical engineering and computer sciences.

  •  Collaboration with India

1.  North Bengal Oncology Center, Siliguri, India

Year of establishment: 2012

Scope: Students get opportunity to perform the practical part of Bachelor, Master and Ph.D thesis under this collaboration. Faculty members from both institutions visit each other to develop medical physics in both institutions.

2.Saroj Gupta Cancer Center and Research Institute,Thakurpukur, Kolkata, India

Year of establishment: 2011

Scope: In the frame of a sandwich program every year students get opportunity to do joint research and thesis in this institutions.

3. Sanjoy Gandhi post graduate Institute, Lucknow, India

Year of establishment: 2011

Scope: This institution gives opportunity of hands on practical training for the students of MPBME department, Gono Bishwabidyalay. Students get chances to train up themselves under qualified medical physicists in this institution.

Collaboration without Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) (National and International)

1. pollo Gleneagles Hospital India

Year of establishment: Undergoing

Scope: The goal of this cooperation is to develop and upgrade the departments of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering in both institutions. Another goal is to establish scientific collaboration and exchange program at various levels.

2. Zhejiang Cancer Hospital, China

Year of establishment: Undergoing

Scope: Students will get opportunity for practical training, master’s thesis and post graduate fellowship under this collaboration. Faculty members from both institutions will visit for development purposes.

3. Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India

Year of establishment: 2011

Scope: A knowledge exchange program is ongoing between Jadavpur University, India and MPBME department, Gono Bishwabidyalay. Teachers visit both institutions for lectures and training purpose.

Financial Support

  • German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) gives financial support to develop medical physics in Bangladesh since 2002. Students, teachers, clinical medical physicists and technicians who have been visited various institutions in Germany for education and training purpose in the field of medical physics got funds from DAAD. Seminars, meeting and conferences are also arranged with support from DAAD.

Students who visit various universities and hospitals in India or China get financial support for accommodation, food, travel and health in cheap costs.

  • Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), University Grant Commission (UGC), Bangladesh

HEQEP is supporting MPBME department, Gono Bishwabidyalay in order to enhance and develop medical physics and biomedical engineering education. Teaching aids, laboratory equipments and IT facilities are being developed with support from HEQEP.
